Career
Sam Houston (born Michael Maurice Smith) started wrestling in 1985 in the NWA's Jim Crockett Promotions. He was the protege of Dusty Rhodes and Magnum T.A. which made him a target for the Four Horsemen. They got him in the summer of 1985 when Tully Blanchard and Ole and Arn Anderson "broke" his arm in a six-man tag team match.

In late 1985, he feuded with Krusher Khruschev over the Mid-Atlantic Title and won it in January 1986. He then feuded with Black Bart whom he lost the title to.


He formed a team during the summer of 1986 with Nelson Royal.

In late 1986, he moved on to the Central States territory where he won the title from Jerry (the King) Lawler and feuded with Bulldog Bob Brown and Bill Dundee.

During his time in NWA Mid-Atlantic, he married Tully Blanchard's valet Baby Doll.

In 1987, Houston went to the WWF and feuded with Danny Davis and Barry Horowitz through 1988.

He then wrestled in the independents before showing up in the Global Wrestling Federation in 1992.

Sam was once married to Baby Doll. They have two daughters named Mikala Joy and Mikka Tyler(Smitty).
He is the 4th child and youngest son of Grizzly Smith, and living currently near New Orleans with his dad.
He is also the half-brother of Jake "The Snake" Roberts and older brother of Rockin' Robin.
